Sales Rapport Training

Earlier this month I had the pleasure of doing a 2 hour Sales Rapport training for a Health Insurance Company here in Los Angeles. Yesterday I received an email from the Manager that hired me informing me that the sales team had a record week that week after the training and that his people are doing great. He recommended me to other companies as well.

It is always nice to hear that people benefit from what you develop and this is no acception.

If you are looking for a great training program for your teams that fits all occassions then I have the perfect program for you.

Reframing is an art form in linguistics. The first secret to proper reframing is that you can not lie. It is not that you ignore the bad that happens or the feelings that you feel. It is a way to accept things that happen without having them harm you with a lot of negative energy. Reframing also allows state changes to take effect in the client. A state change is simply a change in the emotional state of the individual. So the secret to good reframing is to be able to reframe a negative emotion into a true positive fact or emotion. Now that you know ______ you are able to ________ which will lead you to ______. The easiest way I teach someone to reframe is to ask them to repeat it in a positive way any time I hear a negative. With practice you will notice that you are not having to reframe your thoughts as much and that you are looking for the positive in your life always. There are of course other ways of reframing but this is the one that I have found my students appreciate the most.

Negative Emotion

So many times the simple truth is that a simple anchor of states can assist a person in releasing a negative emotion. So what is an anchor and how can we use it? An anchor is an external stimulant that triggers an internal response like a feeling. Have you ever heard a song that made you feel a certain way? Of course you have and we have other external events that trigger internal responses as well.

So how do we do this? Set the negative anchor first by having the person remember or experience the negative emotion or feeling while pressing on the first nuckle of the left hand.

Next set an opposite emotion on the little nuckle on the same hand. Note you should set the positive emotion or feeling a couple times.

Make sure you break state in between and test the anchors prior to do the mixup.

Then fire both anchors at the same time crosswiring them and have them attempt to recall the emotion that they used to have.

If you have never set anchors or done anchor work then I suggest you read more about it prior to messing with them. For professionals that have worked with anchoring then this should be enough detail to give you ideas on how to use them more.

Change your Attitude

A friend named Ormand McGill had told me a story (several times) about a group of monks a long time ago. He said that the monks were sitting around in a state of confusion because their leader was going to pass away. They wanted him to share the secret to his wisdom and enlightenment. They sat around and asked him and he said that it was actually quite simple. Just change your attitude. When dealing with issues and situations during your day remember this wise man and his advice. Sometimes the simplest solution is just to change your attitude and the problem resolves itself. Sometimes it is our own attitude that prevents us from seeing the solution or gaining the wisdom to seeing past the challenge. Laugh at your problems and watch them dissappear right in front of your eyes like they are no longer there.

How many of you have experienced stress, anxiety, worry, hate, anger or any other emotion that you did not really want to experience?  Actually you have never experienced an emotion that you did not really want to experience because you experienced it.  This might seem a little more confusing because does this mean that you choose to experience your emotions.  We all have emotions and it is a blessing to have these emotions as well.  Could you imagine if we did not have the emotions that we have?  Have you ever wished you did not have certain emotions?
Here is the big question for some of you - Who controls your emotions?  Is there a way for other people to control your emotions really?  Who chooses to act or react to things to create the emotions?  So ask yourself what is it that I gain by reacting this way?
Have you ever heard the saying that just makes me mad or upset?  Would it be better if the saying was that I choose to allow that to give me a reason to be mad or upset? What purpose would being upset provide to the person in the first place?  If you choose to be mad or upset what would be the purpose and is there a benefit to being mad or upset?
I will let you in on a little secret that people do not want to know sometimes.  You are in control of every part of your life, really you are.  It is just easier sometimes for people to pretend that they are not in control so they can feel better about some of the decisions that they have made or what happened. You create every emotion that you have for a reason.  Make sure that the reason you created it is a positive one for you. So next time you are experiencing an emotion that you don't like ask yourself "Why am I creating this emotion and what purpose does it serve?".
In the end we are responsible for our own emotions no matter how hard it is to admit.  Part of becoming that person you want to be in the end is taking back your emotions.

Anchoring both colapsing and installing are vital tools to use in both NLP and Hypnosis.  Many times a client can install negative anchors that can prevent them from enjoying certain parts of their life or can create stress when it is not necessary.  Just like certain songs can create thoughts and feelings other things can also trigger these same responses. The secret to both colapsing and installing a positive anchor is to repeat the anchor building on it each time.  I would never consider installing a positive anchor less than 3 times in order for it to be successful.  I would also make sure to fire the anchor after having it installed to make sure that it is working properly.  When colapsing an anchor do not set the negative anchor more than one time.  You might find that the negative anchor is very powerful so you might want to chain anchors to get them to the desired state.  When you fire both anchors at the same time do not be surprised to find your client going into a state of confusion.  This is expected.  Remember that anchors are a very powerful tool in anything that you are doing so make sure to use them effectively.  In relationships make sure to also anchor some good feelings somewhere special in order to provide your loved one with the benefit of some good feelings as well.  You never know when a good anchor is beneficial to both of you. I have also went as far as to anchor certain emotions.  M has really grown to respect the power of positive anchors and she has never complained once about the special abilities that anchors have provided.

Remain at Cause

So many times I see people blaming Bush or someone else for their issues.  The fastest way to roadblocks or depression is to give up control of your life.  The first thing you must always look at to solve any problem is yourself.  Looking outside of yourself is already admitting defeat and surrendering to your situation.

Decisions we make!!

So what have you decided about life? What roads are you traveling and where do you want to go from here? Ever had these questions run through your head? Have you ever thought of what it is you really know and what it is you might want to know? What if I was to tell you that the brain is not what it appears to be? Would you accept the idea that it is not or would you decide that you already know so anything different is wrong? What if it was possible that a person lived a full life with an IQ of 126 without a brain? Could it be possible or better yet what would it take for you to believe it actually happened? If it did happen and there is scientific proof from an autopsy then what would that do to your beliefs of who and what we really are? If a person can exist without a brain and has water in place of it then where are all of our stored memories, instincts and basically our higher self located at? Could it be the body as a whole is connected and works to store everything in its individual cells so each part of us stores the memories and basic essence of who we are? How would anyone really know for sure in the end but what if it is true then how would you feel about what you used to know? In the end we all decide things don't we? Depending on our values and beliefs we make moral decisions every day. We choose to believe things based on our knowledge. My question that I like to use is what if that knowledge is not true in the first place? What if we can change the results just by coming to a conclusion before hand and just wanting to prove it. Can we being the observer change what it is we observe just because it is what we believe? There is a study on light in which this same thing has been proven. Is light a particle or a wave? Depends on how you as the observer what it to be viewed in the end so far. Could it be possible that we decide what it is we want to see in the end and therefore that is what we see? How would we change that might be the next journey if we ever wanted to make that change in the first place? What would happen in you did not have any expectations to what something would be? Hopefully you might ask a couple of these questions when you are just sitting looking at something in the future.

One Key to Success

Many people think that sometimes it is something difficult that needs to happen in order to become successful. Let me say that sometimes the biggest difficulty that anyone has is just being responsible for the issue in the first place. So many times it is so easy for us to put the blame on something else for the reason for our issues or problems. I will let you in on a secret here. The only power any issue or problem has is the power you give it in the first place. How can any outside force effect you if it is not a physical effect unless you first allow it to. Just take the statement "That made me mad." Truthfully, it was not "that" which made you mad it was you that allowed you to be mad in the first place. Would it of made you mad at any other time or was it just at this time? Why did you choose to become mad? Take Control of Your Life in Everything you Do!!! Mystically yours, Doc Magi

NLP Definition

What is Neuro Linguistic Programming?  Lets just break it down to see if it makes a little more sense.

First of all Neuro - Having to do with the nervous system which also could be represented as the mind.  Not the organ called the brain but the concept of the mind itself which includes the brain. Look at the function of the mind as all of the neuro pathways and nerve endings and how they connect together to form a conciousness or awareness of your surroundings. We must look at all the intake devices that the body has in this as well.  Feelings (external and internal), Smells, Tastes, Visual (sight), and also Auditory (sound).

Second part is Linguistics - Having to do with communication or language as a whole.  Not just what we might say verbally but also what we might say non-verbally.  Every action, moment and expression is communication to others and yourself.  One other aspect of this is just not what communication is done externally but also what communication is created internally.

Last is Programming - How we utilize repeated actions into programs in how we conduct our life. How to change this programming to become more successful or change behaviours in ourselves and others. How to identify and mimic successful programming to achieve specific and desired outcomes.

Putting this all together NLP allows us to better understand the language of the mind in reaching our desired goals and to make change.
